Cariporide prevents mitochondrial membrane potential loss induced by H2+O2+. Cariporide (HOE-642) ameliorates myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury, by the well-established reduction of cytosolic Ca2+ in cardiac myocytes through inhibition of Na+/H+ exchange.
